I am 32 and my wee prince is 6 month now. I am austrian myself but my husband is scottish so my boy is raised bilingual. We are looking for englishspeaking folks for a playdate or to meet up for a coffee.
Hey
I'm not English mother tongue, but I graduated from an international school last year!
my little one is 11 months old!
I'm from vienna, 22 district, but I don't mind meeting somewhere in the middle if that's okay for you
hi,
I am also Austrian and my husband is British... we're not parents yet but our first baby is due in September!
We're also interested in meeting englishspeaking couples and of course playdates are interesting for the near future
Hey guys,
great to see there are a few out there, almost gave up. Does anyone want to meet up sometime in town or want to send a few emails first, not sure whats better. To be honest I dont regulary meet people via the internet ;-)
haha, neither do I no worries, but it's not like we're dating, we're mother's.. that's a little different isn't it?
but I'll go with whatever you feel compfy with! if you feel safer getting to know me per mails first, then that's okay
Ok, I ll tell you guys a bit about me and my wee family and maybe you can tell me about yours, in a pm if you don't want to write it on the discussion.
As I said I am 32 and my wee one is 6 Month. My husband and I got married 5 1/2 years ago and lived in Scotland for a few years then moved back to Austria when we decided to have a baby. He started his career here and I made our new flat a home. Once we decided its the right time for a baby I got pregnant straight away and here we are with our lovely little boy.
I am not sure how my baby is around others as we don't know any families around here but he is very happy and smiley so I think he would love to have a friend. We go out for walks everyday and we cant wait till he is a bit bigger and can actually play on the playground. He is a very easy going baby and doesn't cry a lot, since hes about 2 month he sleeps the night through usually from 6 pm to 7 am which he must have gotten from his dad who could sleep all the time.
We have decided to have one child only so we can keep on travelling which we love. We have already been abroad with him when he was 2 month and he loved beeing on a plane.
Okay thats about it for now, hope to hear from you guys
okay so, I'm 19, don't have a partner at the moment...
my little one has his first birthday next month and I'm oh so excited!!
I'm Austrian and have lived here since birth. I went to the vienna international school and graduated '12 ( highly pregnant xD)
my boy is smily too, most of the time! i'd like to have a second baby, but in a few years time, say 5
I'm 29 and my husband and I have lived in Vienna for nearly 2 years now. Our first baby is due in September and we can't wait to hold her in our arms.
I am Austrian and I met my husband while working in London 9 years ago... (gosh, how time flies). We lived in a long-term relationship for about 5 years, then I finally moved to London to live with him. Then we got married, moved to Qatar for a year and the year after to Vienna.
As we have no children yet we can't quite join it with the playdates and 'parenting talk' but well, we're Happygirl147 about any advise and we would love to meet you guys at some point.
I'm Austrian too but I look forward to meet english speaking families - for me so I can refresh my english a little and for my little sunshine Juli. Maybe it helps her later at school :-?
I'm 28 years and my little sunshine Juli is 29 months so she will be the oldest I study psychology at university of Vienna
Hi Lilu13, dont worry about not beeing able to join in the "parenting talk" thats not really what I was looking for. I just wanted to find some kids around my wee ones age that grow up speaking english too as we do not have an english nursery here and he wont be able spend time with other bilingual kids until primary school otherwise.
Good, good... I would also like to have other bilingual kids around my baby in the future. How does raising your little boy bilingual work out for you? Does your husband speak any German? I struggle to talk German to my husband - we're just so used to communicating in English. I will have to try harder once our baby is born
Hi Lilu,
my husband speaks to our baby only in english and I try to stick to german, altough I do speak english sometimes as my family speaks german to him, so it would only be my husband that speaks english at the moment. My husbands german is quite good but we are used to speak english too as he learned german after we met.
